Cavalry Softball 10u opened up their spring 2021 season with a double header tournament. Saturday 3/6 they took their talents to Keller in the USA Softball South x Southwest Mean Green tournament. The team looked strong and took advantage of the games to improve their craft to get ready for Sunday tournament play in the Lady Giants Invitational in Granbury. Heading into Sunday, the team won the first pool game vs Texas Diamonds 6-3.  Second game of the day, the team matched up against a good Texas Grit team that they would eventually see later in bracket play. They fell short of a win and moved on to their third pool play game vs Dirt Diamonds. The team held Dirt Diamonds to one run each inning but fell one run short during the game to take 4th seed. Going into bracket play, the girls took on DFW Express and the only other team they hadn't seen on the day. Scoring 3 runs in the first inning, DFW Express couldn't recover and ultimately Cavalry moved onto the next bracket game against #1 seed Texas Grit. Two Cavalry pitchers rallied together to shutout Texas Grit and didn't commit a single error in the field.  Going into the championship game at 10 pm at night was starting to take a toll on some of the players but you'd never know it by watching the game. From injuries to just plain tired, the girls battled through to take home the gold winning 14 -2 vs TX Diamonds.

Cavalry Softball takes a few weeks off before their next tournament March 20th & March 21st for a 5 game guarantee at Southwest Park in Irving.
